Who We Are

The YWCA of New Britain assists women, men, and children from all backgrounds. Services support many low-income families. The number of Spanish and Polish speaking participants is growing. The YWCA does not discriminate. Programs provided at the YWCA include: Fitness Classes; Youth Dance, Gymnastics; Licensed, Accredited Child Care; Youth Development; Family Literacy Center and Job Training; Sexual Assault Crisis Services; programs designed for senior citizens; and volunteer opportunities in many areas.

What We Do

The YWCA of New Britain, established in 1910, is a membership-based movement of women from diverse backgrounds and faiths, of different ages and experiences, committed to empowering women and to eliminating racism. The YWCA of New Britain was established in 1910 to provide resources to women and girls in the Greater New Britain area. Programs have grown to serve more than 4000 women, men, and children throughout this region.
