What We Do
Our mission is "to ensure no Enfield resident goes hungry due to a lack of resources." We work to achieve this with the help of our community and hundreds of volunteers. We are fortunate to be in a town that supports our efforts throughout the year when help is needed. In 1968, a few women from St. Patrick's church decided to collect food to help a few families that had lost their jobs due to the carpet factory closing down. They started out assisting five families & stored the food on their laundry room "Shelf." In keeping with that giving tradition, the Enfield Food Shelf continues to provide grocery-style food assistance to an average of 400 families per week along with providing other resources.
